Tissue Biopsy

In the event that a non-discernable lesion if located in the oral cavity, a biopsy is sometimes indicated for a definitive diagnosis. Different methods of obtaining a tissue sample include a brush biopsy, aspiration biopsy, punch biopsy, incisional biopsy, and excisional biopsy. All procedures are typically performed in office with the use of a local anesthetic.
